Two Town Mice exists to craft gentle picture books that slow down busy evenings and invite children into quiet worlds of woodland wonder. We believe a well-told tale can teach patience, spark curiosity, and leave a small reader feeling seen.
Every page begins as a pencil sketch and blooms through layers of watercolor wash. We draw each whisker, leaf, and button by hand, letting texture and imperfection keep the art warm and alive.
A bedtime story should not rush. We shape page turns with deliberate pauses, soft rhymes, and gentle reveals so young listeners can linger on details and ask their own questions along the way.
Our mice face small fears, learn to wait, and discover that helping a friend matters more than being first. The morals sit quietly inside the narrative, never stamped on top of it.
When a book closes and the lamp dims, we want the story to settle somewhere soft. A child might remember how the little acorn waited through winter, or how Whiskers found courage in the dark garden.

The Studio Behind the Stories
Two Town Mice began with a simple wish: to make bedtime reading feel like a small adventure. Today, a close-knit team of writers, illustrators, and book lovers works together to craft picture books that feel personal, playful, and worth reading again.
Founder & Lead Storyteller
Elena spent a decade as a children's librarian before picking up a brush. She writes the studio's core narratives, drawing from the quiet observations she collected during storytime — the gasps, the giggles, the questions that come right before sleep.
Illustrator & Character Designer
Theo's watercolor washes and loose ink lines give the mice their whiskers and the forests their hush. He sketches every character dozens of times before a single page is painted, chasing the exact tilt of a head that makes a reader lean in.
Book Designer & Print Specialist
Nora turns painted pages into finished books. She handles layout, type, and print-ready files, making sure the pacing of a page turn feels right and the colors stay true from screen to paper. Her eye for margins keeps every spread breathable.
Beyond our own titles, we take on commissioned projects for classrooms and independent presses. That might mean a custom story about a class pet, a set of illustrations for a reading program, or a full picture book package from first sketch to final file. We keep the process collaborative and clear, with regular check-ins and honest timelines.
Every project starts with the same question: what will a child feel on the last page? We favor gentle pacing, warm palettes, and characters with small flaws and big hearts. We also test our drafts with real young readers — their attention spans are the strictest editors we know.
